Jakob Grevenstein MD
Orthopaedic Surgeon and Graduated Physical Education Teacher

  • 1952 born in Cologne/Germany
  • 1973 - 1976 studies at the Deutsche Sporthochschule (German Sports University) Cologne, degree: physical education teacher
  • 1977 teaching physical education at the Archbishopric Secondary School in Pulheim-Stommeln/Germany
  • 1978 - 1984 study of medicine in Berlin and Cologne
  • 05/1984 awarded licence to practise medicine
  • 1985 -1987 internship at the following hospitals: Marienhospital Borghorst, Hospital for Sports Injuries Hellersen and Orthopaedic University Hospital Muenster
  • 06/1986 - 1990 internship at the Orthopaedic University Hospital Mainz
  • 1991 - 06/1992 residency at the Orthopaedic University Hospital Mainz
  • While working at the Orthopaedic University Hospital Mainz, Dr. Grevenstein established the Arthroscopic Surgery Unit for knee, shoulder, elbow and ankle joint surgery, organised symposiums and live surgery sessions; several stays abroad, mainly in the USA
  • On 1 July 1992 Dr. Grevenstein opened his orthopaedic surgery practice in Mainz together with P. Ziegler, MD. In their outpatient surgery facility they offer knee, shoulder, elbow and ankle joint operations.
